A MIRACLE HAPPENED Linh and Thong’s story – two young people can now face the world.  My name is Quang Thi Linh. I’m 22 years old. I live in the high mountain province of Sơn La in the north of Việt Nam. When I was very little, horrible tumours appeared on my face. They grew bigger as I did.

ADVANCING SURGICAL STANDARDS Welcome to 2021 as we start the year by sharing some wonderful news. COVID-19 OUR WORK CONTINUES  Facing the World has pioneered a bold new approach to sustainable healthcare, resulting in self-run centres of excellence in the countries we work in. FTW has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Formula 1 Vietnam. Vietnam will host its first ever Formula 1 Grand Prix in Hanoi in April 2020, and this will provide a platform for increasing awareness of the plight of the many children in need of life-changing surgical intervention in Vietnam and beyond. It will also help to raise the funds to cover the cost of providing them with surgery.

World Telehealth Initiative: 3 year Memorandum of Understanding signed Facing the World has entered into a 3 year Memorandum of Understanding with The World Telehealth Initiative (WTI), the foundation set up by telemedicine provider InTouch Health. WTI connects volunteer medical expertise to underserved communities via state-of-the-art technology.  Facing the World believes telehealth is integral to the successful establishment of centers of expertise in Vietnam and a crucial element in its plans for long-term scalability.

Queen’s Birthday: MOU Signing Ceremony April 2019 Facing the World was honoured for its work at the Queen’s Birthday ceremonies hosted by the British Embassy in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. At the ceremony in Hanoi the charity signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam Airlines, 108 Military Central Hospital, Viet-Duc University Hospital and Hong Ngoc General Hospital. This is an exciting development which greatly furthers the charity’s sustainable education projects and facilitates the increasing number of treatments of children born with facial abnormalities.
