RIP Niall Kirkpatrick

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of our colleague and former Chair Niall Kirkpatrick.

It is almost impossible to overstate the importance of Niall’s contribution to Facing the World.  His skills as a surgeon were matched only by his generosity and hard work, and it was his vision for an organization that combined life enhancing technology with education that helped form the basis for much of Facing the World’s success.  Taking over as Chairman from Co-Founder Norman Waterhouse in 2013, Niall was instrumental in all areas of the charity imbuing the group with his drive, determination as well as his sense of duty to the widest community.  Niall’s leadership as the Medical Director of the Charity and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2013-2018 coincided with hugely successful Missions to Vietnam, the founding of deep educational ties on a global basis between leading surgical practices and Universities and an increase in the footprint of Facing the World globally.  The thoughts of everyone at Facing with World are with Niall’s family and friends at this time.
